Tuna salad is an effortless, flavorful, and fulfilling dish, perfect for fasting days when fish consumption is permitted. It's no wonder it's a staple among Orthodox monks, including those on Mount Athos. Try this recipe from Mount Athos, step by step, and discover its simple yet delightful preparation.

Ingredients
Execution Method

We boil our potatoes with salt and clean them.

At the same time, we put the tuna in a bowl and break it up with a fork.

When the potatoes are ready, we cut them into slices.

We add the potatoes to the tuna and mix.

We chop the onion, garlic and parsley.

We add these to the bowl with the tuna and potatoes.

We add oregano.

We mix well.

We add the lemon juice and pepper.

We mix well.

We garnish with capers, parsley, olives and slices of boiled eggs.

Tips

If we want, we can put mayonnaise instead of olive oil. We will mix the fasting mayonnaise with our mixture and we will spread whatever is left on top.

Recipe execution time may vary.

If we are fasting, we do not put the eggs.
