Sauted greens
Shauted or yachni greens are an easy and quick salad that orthodox monks are you used to make during fasting. Greens are full with nutritious ingredients that provide the orthodox monks with adequate energy during the fast. You should try this recipe from Mount Athos for these delicious greens not olny on fasting periods but in all year along.
We cut all our ingredients into thick pieces.
We boil them and strain them.
We burn the oil with the tomato in a pot.
We pour in the ingredients.
We add the red pepper.
We boil on medium heat, until they drink their juice and only the oil is left.
We can saute onions together with all the other ingredients.
We can only saute the spinach.
