Phyllo dough for pies
When the monks make pies they use their own handmade plyllo dough. Thus, the following recipe from Mount Athos shows us how quickly and easily we can make our own plyllo dough for our pies, whether they are sweet or savory. Follow this recipe step by step and learn all the secrets for sure success.
We put all our ingredients in a bowl.
We knead well, trying not to make the dough too tight.
We cover the dough and let it rest for 1 hour.
When the time is up, we open our dough with a rolling pin.
We add cornstarch and flour.
We try to open the leaf as round and thin as possible.
If we want, we can shape our dough into isomeric balls instead of a single dough.
If the dough sticks to our hands, then we add more flour.
