Pudding
Pudding is a fast and simple dessert commonly prepared here in Mount Athos during days of catalysis. This easy-to-make treat is accessible to everyone. Give this recipe a try and experience its delightful flavor. Pudding is an ideal dessert option suitable for vegans as well.
We pour the raisins into the brandy and let them soak.
In a bowl, we mixt the broken ladyfingers with the walnuts.
We pour the cold milk into a pan and add the sugar, the corn flower, the jelly, the three yolks and mix well.
The, we add the hot milk to the pot and boil on a very low heat, stirring constantly until the cream thickens.
We add the soaked raisins and remove the pan from the heat to cool the cream.
We grease a mold and spread 1/4 of the cream cheese inside.
We sprinkle 1/3 of the ladyfingers mixture on top.
We repeat the layers two more times and finish with one last layer of cream.
We let the pudding in the fridge to cool well.
We don't throw away the egg whites. We keep them for another preparation, e.g. omelette.
If we don't have walnuts, we can use any other nut.
