Herb bread
Make this traditional herb bread from Mount Athos, which is an ideal snack for the days of fasting. An easy monastic recipe for flavored bread with herbs that doesn't require a mixer or special kneading.
We mix the flours, salt and baking powder in a bowl.
We dissolve the soda in a little water.
We add the soda, olive oil, water, spring onions, dill and parsley in the bowl and mix very well.
We transfer the mixture to a pan and bake at 200 degrees in a preheated oven for about an hour.
If the dough is quite firm then we add a little water. This depends on the quality of the flours.
We can also add some chives to the herbs.
We can also use self-rising flour, just then we remove the soda and baking powder.
