Holy Skete of Agia Anna

This icon of saint Anna  is located next to the abbot's throne of Kyriako (main church) of the Skete of Saint Anna on Mount Athos. It is considered particularly miraculous in cases of infertility. Husbands apply a special kanon, rule, after confession, and chant the Saint's Prayer. Male children are usually given the name Joachim and female children the name Anna in honor of the holy couple.
