Meatballs with tuna and tarama is an easy, delicious and alternative dish that anyone can make. Here on Mount Athos the Orthodox monks usually make this dish during fasting periods when eating fish is allowed, such as the Christmas fast. Try this authentic recipe and be surprised by unique taste. This dish from Mount Athos can be accompanied with the taramosalata.

Ingredients
Execution Method

We soak the bread and grind it well.

We put the tuna in a bowl and melt it with a fork.

At the same time, we grate the onions and garlic.

We pour the vegetables into the bowl with the tuna.

We throw the tarama.

We add the yeast, pepper and oregano.

We mix well.

We let the dough rest.

We fry the meatballs, after first flouring them, on a low heat.

Tips

If we want, we can also put vegetables in our dough such as corn, potato or peas.

The pieces may vary depending on the size we will make our meatballs.

We do not add salt because the tarama is salty enough by itself.
