The icon of Virgin Mary Pantanassa, which dates from the 17th century and is located on the left wing of the north-eastern column of the Catholikon of the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi, was a source of inspiration for the creation of its copies. She is known to Orthodox Christians for her miraculous works. She celebrates on September 24.
