This fine oval icon of Saint Polyxeni is depicted in accordance to the tradition of Orthodox iconography. A lithograph copy is placed on artificial wood, the upper side has a curved shape adds a touch of elegance.
Saint Polyxeni, a Spanish woman who lived in the middle of the 1st century AD, heard the preaching of the Apostles Peter and Philip during her wanderings in Greece. She was apprenticed to the Apostle Andrew and, together with her sister Saint Xanthippi, worked to spread the Christian faith, leading many women to Christ. Her memory is commemorated on September 23.
