Saint Kalliopi - Lithography on Wood

This fine oval icon of Saint Kalliopi is depicted in accordance to the tradition of Orthodox iconography. A lithograph copy is placed on artificial wood, whose arched top adds a touch of elegance.
Saint Kalliopi lived in the middle of the 3rd century AD, during the reign of the emperor Decius. In the persecution against the Christians, she was arrested and suffered severe torture. In the end, she was martyred by beheading. Her memory is commemorated on June 8.
