Silver-Plated Icon Archangel Michael of Mantamados on Black Wood 27x30cm

The miraculous icon of the Archangel Michael was created by the novice monk Gabriel at the Taxiarches Monastery in Mantamados, Lesbos, likely between the 10th and 11th centuries. According to tradition, the Archangel Michael protected the monastery twice from Saracen pirates through miracles. The icon survives to this day, retaining its original vibrancy and continuing to perform miracles.
