This remarkable Orthodox icon is a serene expression of faith and prayer making it a timeless and an ideal gift. It follows the traditional Orthodox iconographic style incorporating modern elements. The original icon called “ Mary Proussiotissa” is kept at the Monastery of Proussos, near the town of Karpenisi in Evrytania District. The icon was initially brought from the city of Proussa in Asia Minor, by the founders of the monastery, in 829 A.D. A copy inspired by the original is placed in a Plexiglas base. It depicts Virgin Mary holding child Jesus.
