Saint Dionysius of Zakynthos is the patron saint of Zakynthos, known as the "Saint of Forgiveness" because he forgave his brother's murderer, hiding him in the monastery. He is honored on December 17 (assumption) and August 24 (transfer of relics). His incorruptible relic is located in the city's homonymous church, while his right hand is kept in the monastery of Simonos Petras on Mount Athos.
