Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene - Lithography on Wood

Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene are Newfound Saints who were martyred after the Fall of Constantinople.
Saint Raphael, from the Mills of Ithaca, was born in 1410 AD. He served in the Byzantine army, rising to high rank, and later became a cleric. In 1463 AD suffered horrible tortures.
Saint Nikolaos was subordinate to Raphael. He became a monk and then a deacon. He was tortured and died in 1463 AD, tied to a tree.
Saint Irene, 12 years old, daughter of the provost of Thermi Vassiliou, was martyred with them. The Saints are honored two days after Holy Easter.
