This fine oval icon of Saint Peter is depicted in accordance to the tradition of Orthodox iconography. A lithograph copy is placed on artificial wood, the upper side has a curved shape adds a touch of elegance.
Saint Peter lived in Capernaum, was married and worked as a fisherman. On the day of Pentecost, together with the other eleven Apostles, he preached to the crowd and baptized 3,000 people. He founded the Church of Antioch and was martyred by crucifixion in Rome. His memory is commemorated on June 29.
