Saint Nektarios, also known as Nektarios of Pentapolis or Aegina, was born in 1846 in the area of Thrace. In Aegina, he founded a monastery and helped the inhabitants of the island with love and sympathy, while also performing miracles. He died in 1920 and was buried in the Holy Monastery of Saint Triada in Aegina. His memory is commemorated every year on November 9.
