Saint Charalambos was a priest in the region of Magnesia, in Asia Minor, and dedicated his life to spreading the Christian message. In 198 AD, during the persecutions against the Christians, he was arrested and subjected to severe torture. A part of his skull is today in the Monastery of Saint Stefanos in Meteora, as well as in the temple dedicated to him in Thespies in Boeotia. His memory is celebrated every year on February 10.
