This fine icon of the Assembly (Synaxis) of the Unmercenaries (Anargyri) is depicted in accordance to the tradition of Orthodox iconography. It portrays the Saints who practiced medicine without being paid, most known of which are the Saints Kosmas and Damianos. The original icon is crafted by monks of Mount Athos.
