This fine oval icon of Saint Tryphon is depicted in accordance to the tradition of Orthodox iconography. A lithograph copy is placed on artificial wood, the upper side has a curved shape adds a touch of elegance.
Saint Tryphon was born in the 3rd century AD. in Lampsako. He was distinguished for the gift of curing diseases and casting out demons. In 250 AD, he was martyred in Nicaea during Emperor Decius' persecution of Christians. Today he is honored as the patron saint of winegrowers and his memory is celebrated every year on February 1st.
