This fine oval icon of Saint Sergius is depicted in accordance to the tradition of Orthodox iconography. A lithograph copy is placed on artificial wood, the upper side has a curved shape adds a touch of elegance.
Saint Sergius and Saint Bacchus were soldiers under the emperor Maximian. Sergius, known for his bravery and Christian devotion, was arrested along with Bacchus when their faith was revealed. They were tortured and finally martyred by beheading. The memory of Saint Sergius is commemorated on October 7.
