This fine oval icon of Saint Hypatios is depicted in accordance to the tradition of Orthodox iconography. A lithograph copy is placed on artificial wood, the upper side has a curved shape adds a touch of elegance.
Saint Hypatios, bishop of Gangron, distinguished himself for his struggle in favor of Orthodoxy. He participated in the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea (325 AD) against Arius. During his ministry, he faced sects, especially the Nautians. His success enraged the heretics, who in 326 AD they paid pagans to attack him. After a beating, a heretical woman stoned him to death. It celebrates on March 31.
