This fine oval icon of Saint Xenia is depicted in accordance to the tradition of Orthodox iconography. A lithograph copy is placed on artificial wood, whose arched top adds a touch of elegance.
Saint Xenia was born in Kalamata in 291 AD. in a family of pious Christians. The prefect Dometianos, a pagan, asked to marry her, but she categorically refused. As a result, he suffered horrific torture and was finally martyred by beheading. Her memory is commemorated on May 3.
