Saint Christina - Lithography on Wood

This fine oval icon of Saint Christina is depicted in accordance to the tradition of Orthodox iconography. A lithograph copy is placed on artificial wood, the upper side has a curved shape adds a touch of elegance.
Saint Christina the Great Martyr came from Tire in Syria and was the daughter of the general Urbanos. When he pressured her to offer sacrifices to idols, Christina courageously refused idolatry. For her faith she suffered horrendous tortures and was finally martyred in Syria by the general Dion. Her memory is commemorated on July 24.
