This fine oval icon of Saint Christodoulos is depicted in accordance to the tradition of Orthodox iconography. A lithograph copy is placed on artificial wood, the upper side has a curved shape adds a touch of elegance.
Saint Christodoulos came to life in a small town near Nicaea in Bithynia around 1020 AD. By royal decree of Emperor Alexios I Komnenos, he began the construction of a Monastery in Patmos, where his remains are still kept today. His memory is commemorated every year on March 16.
